Primary Purpose:Under general supervision, perform bookkeeping and maintain district human resource and financial records.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in related field (Preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets and do word processing
Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
Skyward School Business Suite (Preferred)

Experience:
Two years experience or college course work in accounting-related subjects
Two years school district experience in related position (Preferred)

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain complete and systematic records of assigned district financial transactions and employment documents.
Verify and record details of financial transactions in appropriate journals and subsidiary ledgers and transfer subsidiary account summaries to general ledger.
Balance general ledger and subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
Examine general ledger transactions for accuracy; make corrections as needed and inform supervisor of problems.
Compute and record cash receipt summaries.
Issue cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.
Set up new items in the online payment management system.
Set up new district vendors.
Assist in maintaining district payroll registers, payroll check registers, employee payroll information and other original documentation in an orderly and accurate manner.
Assist in calculating and inputting employee wages, salaries, hours worked, overtime pay and determine withholdings, deductions and net pay.
Receive and audit time sheets for all district employees.
Assist with preparation of financial statements, income statements, and cost reports to reflect financial condition of district and help prepare financial statements and budget amendments for presentation to board.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
Audit and maintain up to date service records and certification documents.
Verify and maintain volunteer documentation and background checks.
Assist and monitor compliance of mandated on-line trainings.
Distribute department mail.
Scan/shred documents as needed.
Other Maintain confidentiality.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
