Job Summary:

The function of this position serves in a cross-functional role in some of the accounting functions; Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and other finance functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic troubleshooting to reconcile account balances

  • Make inquiries to obtain missing information or verify data accuracy to complete transactions

  • Works relatively independent but in a team environment

  • Perform a variety of accounting tasks involved in processing data

  • Create and distribute assigned daily system reports to appropriate company personnel

  • Assist accounting staff with special projects as assigned

Required Attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work

  • Ability to perform analysis, comparisons and review transactions in order to identify and correct discrepancies

  • Adept at data entry functions enter and retrieve information with reasonable speed and accuracy

  • Able to maintain focus despite numerous interruptions

  • Able to work independently without supervision

  • Able to think of better ways to improve processes

  • A desire to improve processes and increase efficiencies.

Education, Skills and Experience:

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and practices general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • 2 to 5 years of accounting experience using computerized accounting software

  • Experience with data entry, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Use of computer keyboard and mouse, and multi-line phone.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily shared office environment

  • Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required

  • Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable laws, industry standards and Company policy

Ensure supplies and materials are stocked per established par levels. Assure schedules and reports are ready as needed on a daily basis. Education High School diploma or GED required. Experience/Training Minimum one (1) year experience patient registration or health care front office experience preferred. Patient Registration or Patient Access certification may be substituted for experience. License/Certification None required. Other Qualifications Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of patient registration processes in a hospital and clinic environment. Knowledge of medical insurance and verification processes required.
