We are seeking an Accounts Payable clerk. This position provides general accounting, clerical and technical assistance. In this role, you will code and enter vendor and sub consultant invoices, process expense reports and check for accuracy, approvals and policy adherence. You will investigate and resolve vendor billing errors as well as answer employee and vendor questions. You may produce memos or emails on engineering accounting questions, client billing, invoices, contracts and reconciliation of accounts. You may assist the payroll department as needed. This position includes clerical functions such as filing, copying, data entry and preparation of reports.
Review, validate, code, input and post incoming vendor invoices in Accounts Payable
Review, validate, code and check for FAR (Allowable) of employee expense reports.
Prioritize and process payments of Employee Expense, Vendor Invoice and Sub consultant bills on a weekly basis
Respond to all vendor inquiries; Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
Maintain files/documentation thoroughly and accurately.
Work with the A/R team member to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash
Set up new projects, make transfers of employee billable hours and/or expenses, and open and close projects, phases and tasks in company system.
Recommend and implement agreed process improvements.
Assist in month end closing
Annual 1099 maintenance & assist in reporting
Assist payroll as needed
Perform special clerical duties for the Controller and others.
Two years of related experience as an accounting clerk, specialist or coordinator; AP experience is a plus
Degree in Accounting/Finance is a plus
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Experience with BST or other project based accounting software is a plus
