What is the purpose of this position?

The role of the Accounting Manager is to be responsible for assisting in monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes including but not limited to manual journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and preparation of related monthly calculations. In this role the individual would be involved in acquisition and integration related projects including system integrations and GL integration projects. This position would be responsible for managing members of the accounting team that perform duties related to AP and expenses. In this role the individual will have the ability to develop and provide meaningful data to drive real time business decisions. This is a unique opportunity to be in a player/coach role in a position that will make immediate positive impact on the success of the department and the company.

Looking For Some Details?

  • Will manage or lead some members of the accounting team

  • Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data to create meaningful reports to lead business and process improvement

  • Develop and produce monthly manager reports for budgetary and travel and expense tracking throughout the organization

  • Recommend, develop and implement new accounting technologies to further maximize the department's automation

  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Responsibility over the Accounts Payable process including in depth review of Accounts Payable Clerk's work and ensuring that all expense items have been treated accurate under all applicable accounting guidance

  • Calculate internal and partner commissions

  • Aid on special projects related to integration, transactions, system upgrades and other projects as they arise

  • Provide analytical support to Finance and Accounting Management

Do You Fit Our Team?

  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences - Accounting or Business with an Accounting emphasis. CPA preferred

  • Public Accounting Experience Preferred (3+ years)

  • High Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel required

  • Must be able to interact with C-Level employees

  • Must be organized and self-motivated to follow instructions with minimal direction

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint

  • Knowledge of NetSuite software a plus

  • Knowledge of Salesforce software a plus

  • Knowledge of Concur Solutions a plus

Ensure all assigned accounts are reconciled timely in compliance with the Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and Materiality policies and that all reconciling items are investigated and resolved. Provides financial information to other departments. Develops a working knowledge of the overall Corporate Uniform Systems of Accounts, generally accepted accounting principles, and accounting policies and procedures unique to the utility industry. Work is performed under close supervision usually following a predetermined schedule of results desired. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Good interpersonal skills for communicating financial explanations and oral/written information to others, both within and outside the corporation.
