Accounting Manager

About the Role

Watlow is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to play a critical role in our financial operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong technical expertise, and is passionate about driving efficiency and partnering with key stakeholders across the organization.

This position will be based out of our global headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Financial Close & Reporting: Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial operations through automation and system optimizations.
• Business Partnering & Decision Support: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Systems Implementation & Optimization: Manage accounting systems, including Oracle ERP and Cloud GL, ensuring accurate financial data and reporting.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Audit & Financial Analysis: Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed, manage external audit communications and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting or FP&A experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
• Proven experience in process improvement, team leadership, and project management

Desired Qualifications

• CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification
• Experience with Oracle ERP, Cloud GL, and EPM/Hyperion systems
• Background in system implementations and financial systems optimization
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities
