What You'll Do

We are seeking a talented accounting or finance candidate to support our growing organization and partner with our corporate and BU teams. The successful candidate will work cross functionally supporting accounting, controllership, and project teams. They will take initiative in finding answers and process improvements to add to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, as well as ensuring accurate financials are reported and providing insight to support FP&A team. There are also many adhoc projects with high visibility to leadership within the whole Stanley Black & Decker organization. The finance team within Stanley X has the benefit of supporting businesses in the startup environment while working with experienced large corporate functions. You'll get to:

  • Own the monthly financial close process and reconciliation support

  • Manage intercompany relationships

  • Manage Billing process including reviewing customer-facing invoicing, sales tax and trade compliance, revenue recognition, treasury management, and supplying sales forecast

  • Lead implementation of new finance commercial processes as new businesses develop grow and products launch to market

  • Manage Procurement process including review of vendor management, purchasing, and proper settlement

  • Own approval matrix in compliance with controllership guidance

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects providing accounting strategy

  • Participate in & support strategic planning process

  • Develop and supervise a transactional specialist for AR and AP

  • Coordinate with FP&A team to ensure accurate and valuable reporting

  • Strong presentation skills, especially with crafting executive level updates articulately

Experience & Educational Requirements

  • 5-7 years in accounting, audit, controllership, or similar field

  • Self-starter with goals to grow along with business

  • Demonstrated ability in day to day accounting, journal entries, purchasing and invoicing, and control implementation

  • Graduate of a recognized, formal leadership program a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field | Master's degree helpful
