Accounting Manager

As our Accounting Manager, you will oversee all financial facets of our business operations. Collaborating closely with the executive team, your role will involve ensuring financial steadiness, optimizing processes, and boosting profitability in our HVAC contracting enterprise. This opportunity is based in our Escondido, CA office.

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 yearly Responsibilities: Perform and manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, including invoice processing, payment processing, collections, and reconciliations Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements Handle liens and releases in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization Experience creating and updating WIP reports Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders Develop and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts Monitor project profitability and cost control measures Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing activities Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights and recommendations for business growth Collaborate with project managers and estimators to optimize project pricing and bidding strategies Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred Proven experience (5-10 years) in a financial management role within the HVAC industry Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project management Proficiency in accounting software Sage and MS Excel Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends Effective communication and leadership abilities to work collaboratively across departments Knowledge of HVAC industry operations and regulatory requirements is a plus About Company Sphere Mechanical is a leading HVAC Mechanical Contractor based out of San Diego.
