In this role, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for handling daily operations such as, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties.   • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Recent relevant financial experience

  • Solid understanding of J.D. Edwards

  • Command of job costing

  • Budget forecasting experience

It is the expectation of each employee to maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to be a team player. The Assistant Produce Manager is responsible for managing and developing all aspects of the Produce Department in the absence of the Produce Manager. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Produce Department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Assists in monitoring and controlling all costs and expenses; includes maintaining proper ordering and inventory control, ensuring proper weighing procedures, controlling shrink, and monitoring ad displays. * Assists in managing the Department staff including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching. * Stocks and trims produce department; includes presentation of product, maintaining product levels, and organizing vegetables and produce as set by the Produce Department schematics as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy. * Ensures cleanliness of produce aisles, storage area, and work area for safety; includes cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills or water, removing hazardous debris from floor and sweeping. * Monitors the rotation of all produce products paying particular attention to expired stock and discarding outdated or spoiled items. * Ensures weekly flyer ads are in stock and ready for sale during business hours and that product for upcoming ads are ordered, in stock, and available for processing. * Responds positively to customer's inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information and product selection; requires selling and cross selling of products. * Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality. * Builds and maintains product displays as directed and coordinates monthly promotion change-overs. * Participates in monthly inventory; ensures accurate accounting for all products. * Ensures all wet racks are stocked, clean, and maintain proper temperatures. * Sustains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation. * Walks department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times. * Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience * High school diploma or equivalency degree. * Must have a minimum of 3 years professional experience. * Preferred 2-4 years grocery retail experience in Produce department processes and procedures. * Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
