Accounting Managers looking to work for a successful Food Food Processing organization that will recognize their efforts will be interested in Robert Half Finance's opportunity work with a thriving company. The ideal candidate for this position can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. In this role, it will be critical for you to have the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. Located in the Torrance, California area, this Accounting Manager position would be on a full-time basis. Responsibilities

  • Command sufficient knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Play key role in implementation of NetSuite Financials including system and process design, data migration, testing, training, and go-forward system administration

  • Lead and supervise the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met

  • Work alongside FP A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant

  • Organize a variety of technical accounting analyses, procedures, and policies

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Recent relevant financial experience

  • Adeptness in US GAAP

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Macros

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger

  • Job costing experience highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in costing

  • Inventory planning reporting experience highly preferred

  • General familiarity with month end closings

  • Practical knowledge of inventory

  • Standard costs experience

  • Expertise in ABC

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

In this position you will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and closing activities. You'll work in a lead role to carry out critical general accounting tasks, and serve as a liaison between internal and external customers, auditors, and suppliers. In addition, you will ensure compliance with government regulations (FAR/CAS), company internal policies and professional accounting practices, and continuously evaluate, improve, implement and monitor internal controls. Other responsibilities include but not be limited to: * Preparing financial status reports, income statement details and cash flow position and reconciliations * Serving as process owner for certain Sarbanes-Oxley processes * Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly financial statements and supplemental data to L3 Corporate using Oracle Hyperion Financial Management system * Performing regular reviews of accounting records and control documentation * Ensuring documented procedures necessary to comply with GAAP, ASC606, Sarbanes Oxley and L3 accounting policies. * Reviewing and approving revenue recognition methodologies and their application. * Applying effective processes and methodologies to collect month-end information and communicating with Financial Planning staff. * Preparing year-end financial and tax schedules for Corporate * LI-AH1 * IND You will need at least seven years of accounting experience, with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and ASC606 procedures for recording accounting transactions, project and programs control procedures, and relevant laws and regulations. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include: * Demonstrated proficiency in tracing discrepancies, maintaining documentation control, and preparing reports and accounting analyses covering general ledger accounts is necessary. * Experience with state and sales tax * Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and strong Excel skills are needed. * Knowledge of Hyperion and Infor LN is preferred. * Public accounting firm audit experience and/or aerospace or government contractor experience is preferred. * A bachelor's degree in accounting is required; a CPA, CGMA or CMA designation is preferred. (This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.)
