Job Purpose The primary purpose of the Accounting Manager – Real Estate is to provide accounting support and oversight to Whittier Trust clients with real estate portfolios and to provide analytical support to the Senior Vice President – Real Estate.

This role will initially be hands on from a processing standpoint and will migrate to a supervisory role over time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Accounting and Managerial Responsibilities · Record and/or review accounting entries for client-owned real estate entities. · Oversee month-end and year-end close activities. · Supervision of cash disbursements and bank reconciliations. · Process invoices. · Preparation and review of financial statements. · Ensure compliance with GAAP. · Meet regularly with, and communicate financial results to clients. · 1099 preparation.

Request W-9s as needed. · Prepare depreciation and fixed asset schedules. Prepare annual business property tax reports for client-owned operating companies. · Manage, train and mentor accounting staff and help guide their development. 75% 2. Financial Analysis and Business Development · Provide general underwriting review, property analysis and due diligence for potential new investments at the direction of the Senior Vice President – Real Estate. · Actively participate in and source new business opportunities. · Review financial statements of prospective real estate clients and develop accounting service proposals. 20% 3.

Ad hoc responsibilities as required 5% Total: 100% Desired Skills Working knowledge of accounting for real estate entities High proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite applications, including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com and Yardi 7 years of accounting experience desired Professional presence and appearance Able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness Personal Characteristics Strong people skills Client service focus Effective verbal and written communication skills High integrity with a diligent work ethic Team/people-oriented Highly organized with good time management skills Meticulous attention to detail Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by airplane. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university Certified Public Accountant or Advanced Accounting Degree Compensation Base salary range $130,000 - $160,000 annually Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience.
