Scope of Role

As RapidMiners Accounting Manager, you will fill a new role and be a key leader of the Finance and Accounting team. You will help lead by directing the daily operations in accounting, financial systems, and other operational areas. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes, as well as compliance with US GAAP. In addition, you will support international accounting and operations in our European offices and have a sound understanding of Consolidated financial results. This is a hands-on role with an emphasis on leading by example and supporting executive management to make financial, operational, and strategic decisions.

Ideal candidate should have a passion for continuous innovation and helping to support a collaborative work environment at RapidMiner. Self-motivated and works well with fast paced environments and balancing deadlines and priorities. This is a remote position, however we require the applicant to be in the Greater Boston area as we have occasional in-person meetings in our Boston, MA co-working space.


  • Responsible for managing components of the general accounting function; preparation/review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations prepared by others
  • Oversee the completion of general ledger account reconciliations
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes
  • Support build-out and proper documentation of controls
  • Supervise the accuracy and completion of various assignments performed by the accounting staff
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition is applied in accordance with ASC 606
  • Understand and oversee the procure to pay process ensuring timely entering and payment of bills
  • Assist in review of monthly expenses and perform budget to actual analysis
  • Support preparation for the annual audit
  • Evaluate new accounting pronouncements and any potential impact on the Companys financial reporting.
  • Help ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax regulations transfer pricing regimes


  • Bachelors degree with concentration in in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience in worldwide reporting and consolidation
  • Strong knowledge of accounting terms and processes
  • Software / Technology industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Advanced understanding of finance systems and ERP functionality: NetSuite experience a plus
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Must be self-motivated, able to prioritize, and multitask to meet daily deadlines
  • Ability to be Hands-On with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator
