Public Accounting Firm in the Financial District of San Francisco Seeks Experienced Accountant to Provide Fractional Support to Multiple Clients

Public accounting firm in the Financial District of San Francisco seeks an experienced Accounting Manager (controller-level) with managerial experience for a full-time position to service multiple clients and provide increased guidance and support to our Outsourced Accounting Team.

Primary Job Functions

  • Provide top-level support to clients
  • Train, mentor and supervise junior accounting staff
  • Proactively anticipate clients needs and propose solutions to current or future challenges
  • Lead and review monthly closes and produce monthly financials
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of all assigned client work

Requirements

Candidate Must Have:

  • 5 years full-cycle controller-level accounting experience with general ledger responsibility
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Professional presence
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Manage others
    • Assess client needs, pinpoint problems and propose solutions
    • Analyze, identify and resolve GL errors
    • Continuously juggle multiple client engagements
  • Experience managing all schedules to support monthly financials and annual audits
  • Supervised or taken prominent lead role in month-end closing process
  • 4-year college degree
  • Car to travel to client sites as needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field
  • Ability to draft customized financial policies and procedures for clients
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Job costing experience
  • Deeper industry experience in one or more of these sectors:
    • Manufacturing/Wholesale/Distribution
    • Retail including eCommerce
    • Restaurants
    • Construction
    • Technology
  • Ability to construct operating cash flow models and budgets
  • Experience in working remotely as needed ability to share screens, schedule video conferences, etc.
