ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with month-end close by managing resources accordingly to ensure the quality of the financial statements

  • Complete and review accounting reconciliations timely, which could include fixed assets, inventory, bank and other accounts

  • Create, review, and post journal entries

  • Supervise, lead and manage direct reports within the Accounting Department

  • Assist in the coordination of the external audit of the Company's financial statements including preparation of support schedules and managing open/action item lists pertaining to the audit

  • Lead and facilitate development and documentation of new technical accounting policies and procedures

  • Provide feedback and coaching of direct reports via formal and informal performance management

  • Participate in or lead various ad hoc and other special accounting projects

  • May assist in the preparation of the Company's monthly financial reporting

  • May assist with acquisition accounting set-up in the general ledger system

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

  • 5 to 8 years of accounting experience is ideal

  • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (preferred but not required)

  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties

  • Prior supervisory/management experience

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in public accounting (preferred but not required)

  • Active CPA license (preferred but not required)

  • Working knowledge of fixed assets and inventory control

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor

  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.

  • Travel requirements: Approximately less than 10%

  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.

  • May be subject to pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
