D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Accounting Manager-Payroll. The right candidate will perform various accounting or finance functions with limited supervision by being able to identify issues, research, develop solutions and implement such solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze PeopleSoft reports and review bi-monthly journal entries to post Payroll expense to the General Ledger
Review and analyze payroll and payroll related expenses including taxes, vacation, deferred comp, garnishments, ESPP, 401k RSU vesting and health insurance
Prepare monthly and quarterly flux worksheets
Prepare General Ledger reconciliations for payroll related accounts
Research and resolve outstanding items on multiple bank reconciliations for payroll accounts
Maintain the GL interface between Peoplesoft and JDE
Work as a liaison with the Corporate Payroll Department
Prepare the annual pay ratio analysis
Review and test custom reports from Peoplesoft as needed
Prepare audit schedules as needed
Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Supervisory Responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
Four to five years of related experience and/or training
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables)
Proven ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to meet deadlines
Possess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with division personnel and all levels of co-workers
Customer service mentality-Corporate Accounting is a support department
Initiative and ability to work with limited direction
Must successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
CPA strongly preferred
Experience with payroll accounting preferred
Homebuilding industry experience using JD Edwards, is a plus
Ability to work well within a team
