Position Overview:

Molex is seeking an Manager Accounting & Controllership for the Global Business Services - Americas Finance team. This individual will be responsible for leadership and oversight of global accounting team located both in Lisle, IL and Bangalore India. The role will also include working closely with the corporate accounting, financial reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, plant accounting/finance and Koch Treasury/Tax groups. This is a highly visible and respected position within the Controllership group, and the person selected will be viewed as the go-to person with regards to operational accounting. He/she will be expected to develop strong working relationships with our plants, business units, divisions operations and leadership within Molex.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of global accounting through review and development of financial accounting analysts and controls

  • Responsible for month end close process and consolidation ensuring compliance with GAAP and Corporate policy

  • Assist with audit and statutory reporting activities

  • Ensure the plant, business unit and divisional financials are communicated properly. This includes pre/post close meetings with the different stakeholders in the company to communicate one time items.

  • Collaborate with various departments, including Molex Tax, Treasury, Legal, Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting and Koch Tax & Legal, on various ad-hoc requests and projects

  • Ensure effective internal control environment for global company entities

  • Lead and oversee the regional controllership team in Lisle, IL

  • Oversee, guide and train the Global Accounting team in Bangalore, India

  • Assist/lead various projects such as SAP integrations, system implementations, process improvement & establishing internal controls

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or higher

  • 7+ years accounting experience

  • CPA required

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems

  • Experience in a $1B+ revenue organization

  • Experience leading large teams

  • Operational accounting experience required

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects as well as day to day responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting

  • 2+ years of management experience (accounting)

  • Accounting experience in a global manufacturing environment

  • Public Accounting experience considered a plus

  • Experience with SAP

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, be flexible and accommodating and to deal with rapid change effectively while remaining focused and organized

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Consolidation systems (preferably BPC) and General Ledger systems (preferably SAP)

  • Strong understanding of all financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Statement of Stockholders' Equity, Statement of Cash Flows) and their interrelationships

  • Experience with varied financial reporting and accounting practices in large global companies with an emphasis in a manufacturing environment

  • Analytical thinking skills for interpretation of accounting rules and their application to specific transactions

  • A demonstrated ability to work well with others and prioritize responsibilities in order to meet deadlines

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and in groups

  • Ability to influence, drive process, implement change, proactively lead and advise in a rapidly changing business environment while demonstrating a high level of transparency, accountability and collaboration cross-functionally

As an immediate assignment, this position will be responsible for the completion of the Innovation Center facilities which includes equipment commissioning, construction of pilot plant, R&D kitchens and other areas. Ongoing, this position will manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the Innovation Center and ensure that capabilities exist to support R&D team members on multiple types of projects as well as other assigned tasks. Included in this are the implementation and monitoring of Preventive Maintenance programs, Safety and Food Safety programs, governmental regulatory agency requirements and other relevant programs. This candidate will operate in a cross-functional environment with internal/external stakeholders and contractors. The position will manage a technical team and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement through leadership, coaching, training, and accountability. This role requires strong technical background with the ability to apply prior knowledge and product development principles to guide/mentor team members and grow their capabilities for contributing to the organization.
