Position Summary:

Responsible for the work completed within a specific department of the Regional Accounting Service Center. Achieve accurate, timely and efficient accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Company policies in respective work sections. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Determine best practices and procedures for consolidation of accounting functions into work section

  • Implement new or revised accounting policies and methods for the purpose of improvements

  • Review and guide projects related to the work area

  • Administer Company policies and verify accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Manage utilization of department overtime

  • Recommend associates for promotion and transfer decisions when applicable

  • Assist in the formulation of formal and concise audit responses

  • Interview and hire qualified Administrative Support Personnel

  • Responsible for proper account balance detail on a period basis

  • Provide customer service that is timely and accurate

  • Supervise, develop and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; provide continuous, constructive feedback to direct reports

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a Business related field

  • Proficient in Excel and Word

  • Strong self-motivation

  • Understanding of Kroger Accounting Systems

  • Outstanding Organizational Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures related to process and accounting controls

  • Effectively deals with ambiguity

  • Demonstrate ability to create an environment to receive open and honest communication

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of files, conversations and documents.

  • Demonstrate sound business judgment and the ability to work successfully with all levels of management, associates, backgrounds, and perspectives

  • Demonstrated experience presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups when given time to prepare; delivering presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. (Formal Presentation)

  • Ability to travel independently

Desired Previous Job Experience or Professional Training

  • Prior accounting center experience

  • Division accounting or audit experience

  • Shared Service Center experience

  • Master degree in Accounting or Certified Public Accountant

Education Level: Bachelor's Desired

Revenue Accounting Specialist Job Purpose The Revenue Accounting Specialist is responsible for global receivables, gathering, validation of accrual/invoice entries into financial system, revenue month-end financial close process, ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. Working under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement, the Revenue Accounting Specialist develops and implements billing operations to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of billing processes. Analyzes accounts receivable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Essential Functions - Duties and Responsibilities * Reviews, validates, creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers * Compare billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger in order to ensure that all payments are properly posted and accounted for * Research customer discrepancies and past due amounts * Prepare reports detailing accounts receivable status. * Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment * Manage unbilled receivables. Work with cross functional stakeholders to ensure all sales orders on closed, renewals are timely reconciled, and invoices are timely.
