Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager will assist the Kornerstone Controller with month-end close and reporting, trend analyses summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual forecasts. Help with the yearly financial statement audit. Must have a willingness to learn and grow as the company continues to grow and expand into new product lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the controller with accounting functions to include:

• Manage month-end close process

• Financial reporting and analysis

• ASC 606 knowledge/experience

• Manage annual aud

• Investment accounting

• Reinsurance reports

• Cash management

• Fixed assets

• Account Reconciliations

• Comply with the internal and external reporting requirements in accordance with guidelines, format, and the time frame requested. Review reports with Managers and provide analysis as necessary.

• Review and audit documents for completeness and accuracy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting required

• Audit knowledge is helpful

• Detailed oriented

• Desire to learn and grow in your career

• Willing to work extra hours as needed to meet deadlines

• Must be team oriented and have a collaborative work style

• Critical thinking skills to perform needed analysis and provide useful financial reports

• Must be able to interact with many levels of staff effectively communicating what is needed

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must be well-versed in all Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally an office environment.
