Our Team:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Orleans team.

Your Job:

The Accounting Manager assists the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, this role is responsible for supervising other areas within the Finance Department under the direction of the Assistant Director of Finance, including payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering in accordance with all related local and corporate policies and procedures. The Accounting Office structure may vary, and responsibilities will be adapted as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain local credit policies and procedures regarding billing, credit cards, collection, inquiries and cheque cashing and prepare month-end and year-end reports and reconciliations in accordance with established corporate guidelines.

  • Ensure all inquiries from guests or credit card companies are handled promptly (same day if possible) and professionally.

  • Ensure prompt and accurate billing for all accounts and timely collection follow-up. · Maintain credit histories, original approved written requests for credit and other records for regular hotel accounts.

  • Ensure that the check-in / check-out procedure adequately protects the hotel without burden or delay to the guests of the hotel.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with regular clients to foster communication and assist in collection.

  • Prepare and conduct a monthly credit meeting.

  • File documents and reports.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.

About You:

  • College education or equivalent experience

  • Two (2) to five (5) years experience with a Finance Department, preferably within a hotel.

  • A working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and all corporate policies and procedures required

  • Knowledge and ability to operate computer equipment and excellent Excel and Computer Skills. Sun, iScala and Opera Systems knowledge would be ideal and greatly valued.

  • Strategic and analytical with solid business acumen.

  • Ability to read, write and fluently speak English.

  • Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, effective presentations and to facilitate meetings.
