Have you previously worked as a Manager of Accounting for a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization? Would you like to work 100% remotely for an organization that advances a worthy cause?

Our client is a mission-driven not-for-profit (NFP) organization based in Washington, DC that is focused on advancing public health and safety in partnership with state and local governments nationally. This organization is seeking an Accounting Manager who is based in the Washington, DC area and has extensive general ledger (GL) experience, and experience establishing and maintaining accounting policies and controls in a NFP organization.

This position is 100% work-from-home with occasional travel (5% to 10%) nationally to support engagements. The salary range is $80,000 to $110,000 annually, depending upon experience. The minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA, eight or more years of experience in accounting, and at least 1 year of experience working as an Accounting Manager in a NFP organization.

The Manager of Revenue will also supervise a team of Accounts Receivable Coordinators day to day deliverables and collaborate with technical accounting and other key stakeholders in the company to ensure an effective accounting policies are being consistently applied while achieving a more efficient and effective close process. The individual must possess leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, ability to work well within diverse environments and have an ability to effectively implement change. Responsibilities include:</p><ul> <li>Manage a team of Accounts Receivable Coordinators and review their work such as contracts, invoices, monthly reconciliations and reports.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and Corporate policy and procedures.</li> <li>Review contracts/agreements and provide technical accounting expertise and leadership on the treatment of accounting findings, such as identification of non-recurring aspects in the contracts and documentation of company’s assessment under a GAAP perspective.</li> <li>Create policies and procedures for the revenue team to assist with the technical accounting research and documentation of accounting findings for complex transactions.</li> <li>Review and manage day to day revenue accounting and accounts receivable tasks.</li> <li>Review the existing close process and look for opportunities to enhance the process to make it more efficient.</li> <li>Identify and implement best practices within the revenue team.</li> <li>Evaluate existing processes and standards and develops new processes and standards where appropriate.</li> <li>Drive consistency across the revenue accounting team.</li> <li>Assist in the design of controls to the extent existing control framework lacks guidance and/or is no longer relevant and propose recommendations</li> <li>Provide client support and help resolve billing and collection issues.</li> <li>Reconcile monthly revenue and accounts receivable reports and prepare related journal entries.</li> <li>Ensure that project/department goals are met.</li> <li>Assist in provide information for audits.</li> <li>Manage special projects.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Possess a solid understanding of general accounting concepts.</li> <li>Experience with aging receivables and collections follow up.</li> <li>Proficiency with automated accounting and processing systems.</li> <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.</li> <li>Ability to interpret agreements with customers.</li> <li>Good interpersonal skills – ability to deal effectively with Company management, and customers.</li> <li>Excellent organization skills necessary.</li> <li>Requires detail oriented professional</li> </ul><p>The Revenue Recognition Manager must have a solid understanding of technical revenue accounting principles under US GAAP and ASC 606 for a SaaS Company. </p><ul> <li> Recent Experience (5+ years) with Revenue Recognition at a publicly traded company.</li> <li> Minimum of five years’ experience required with AR processing.</li> <li> Strong functional knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other regulatory requirements, with SEC experience preferred.</li> <li> CPA preferred, but not required.</li> </ul><p>Education:</p><p>Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, or related field.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>As part of its total compensation strategy, SOC Telemed provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits package.
