The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting with overall supervision from the Vice President of Finance & Administration in the Finance and Administration department. The Manager is responsible for specific areas of finance, accounting and HR driven tasks (e.g. reporting, analysis, & payroll).
Process financial transactions, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, expense reports, invoicing, and credit cards.
Conduct new hire Accounting trainings and annual trainings
Prepare and distribute various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reports
Analyze financial data related to month end close for both VISIT DENVER, TID and VISIT DENVER FOUNDATION including preparing reconciliations and journal entry preparation
Expense report review and substantiation
Prepare and report 1099's, property tax and other annual reports and returns
Analyze financial data related to Annual Financial Audit and tax returns
Respond to accounting inquiries including communication with internal and external customers
Prepare monthly Partner ROI reports
Prepare bank reconciliations
Manage inventory of parking coupons, trade and petty cash requests
Maintain department related databases, project plans and spreadsheets to track information and handle projects.
Manage payroll processing and timecard review
Assist the Director of HR with recruiting, reviewing resumes, conduct phone interviews and identifying applicants
Prepare and process benefits billing
Conduct Onboarding and Offboarding
Maintain employee and organization information in HRIS, payroll and timekeeping systems
Maintain 3rd party vendor relationships; communicate company needs, requirements, and expectations; work with vendor to resolve issues in a timely manner; evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations to management on necessary improvements to meet business needs.
Project management of major department initiatives e.g. system implementation process/procedure roll-outs, etc.
Prepare written communications, e-mail blasts, memos, charts, tables, graphs, presentations, business plans, etc. Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
Assist VP Finance & Administration, Accounting Director and HR Director with projects as directed
Assist with various other duties that may be assigned
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field of study is required.
Two (2) years related accounting experience required.
Solid functional knowledge and proficiency in accounting/bookkeeping principles.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with a diverse range of individuals.
Advanced skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint and other data systems.
Functional knowledge in human resources, payroll
Maintain professional presence.
