Position Overview:

We are searching for a full-time experienced Accounting Manager with minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience and 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a Construction environment. Applicants with Military experience are encouraged to apply.

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm in our Lakewood office. This position offers weekends off as well as an enjoyable team-oriented environment. This position offers a competitive salary of $100,000 - $120,000, depending on experience. This position offers weekends off as well as an enjoyable team-oriented environment.

The Accounting Manager will possess the minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Accounting or currently pursuing degree
  • 3 - 5 years working in accounting and financial role with payroll experience required preferably in a construction

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel formulas and formatting.

  • Proficient with payroll and accounting software.

  • Familiarity with Windows based operating systems and web-based applications.

  • Ability to create, file and manage electronic documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support CEO in the finance and accounting activities of the Company, including timely issuance of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, maintenance of regular cost reports, periodic budgets and forecasts, accurate processing of accounting transactions, and such other duties and responsibilities as come within the purview of this position

  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to CEO with recommendation for resolution

  • Maintain confidentiality of company information

  • Oversee accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting processes.

  • Oversight of accounting personnel (Payroll, Accounts Receivable, & Accounts Payable).

  • Analysis of job cost and profit/loss of ongoing projects and assist with preparation of monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports.

  • Assist with general accounting, including being responsible for the operating company's treasury and tax obligations.

  • Assist with financial reporting including preparation, dissemination, and review of project work in progress reports

  • Compile, maintain and produce cash management and forecast reports using internal cash management applications for distribution to management.

  • Work with project managers to close out accounts upon project completion

  • Oversee and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Including accurate and timely completion of internal and external payroll reporting requirements.

  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors

  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.

  • Follow internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as payroll administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.

  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly accounting close and preparation of financial statements and reports.

  • Insurance reporting and maintenance

  • Review and prepare Certified Payroll Reports, OCIP/Insurance Reports, Construction Employment Reports and M/WBE Reports as required.

  • Review and approve internal paperwork relating to new projects, change orders, and cost estimates.

  • Calculate and maintain hourly cost breakdowns and billing labor rates.

  • Perform additional assignments as required by the company or as directed by CEO.

  • Other duties as needed.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $120,000, based on experience.

Other Compensation: Eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus in accordance with Company policy.
