Accounting Manager, Cost Accounting

Job Description

Functions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasks depending on workload.

• Own the EBS functionality of Wonderful Nurseries inventory valuation and costing functions.

• Responsible for the costing and monthly close for the Oracle EBS OPM module.

• Review and update costing methodology to provide management with the best information for making decisions.

• Work closely with Nurseries management to improve reporting and presentation of information related to costing and inventory valuation.

• Update costs as necessary and communicate results to upper management.

• Manage the monthly close process for Wonderful Nurseries

• Monitor and analyze final pool adjustments related to spray ops, equipment and general labor pools as part of crop year and calendar year end processes. Work with Operations and GL team in preparing and analyzing rate adjustments and accounting entries.

• Review, develop, and maintain cost accounting and inventory processes for Wonderful Bees. This includes the management of honey and bee inventories.

• Mentor and develop staff and strengthen the cost accounting team at Wonderful Orchards.

• Review, manage and enter all monthly revenue accruals and actuals for all crop varieties.

• Work closely with sister companies to ensure monthly and quarterly balance confirmations are aligned.

• Work closely with the Accounting, Reporting, Special Projects and FP&A teams to streamline the month-end close and reporting process.

• Work with accounting team to develop and implement best practices related to accounting process and controls.

• Develop standard processes, guidelines, and setup required by the assigned projects (including but not limited to workflow, procedures, and accounting controls).

• Work with Accounting and FP&A teams to streamline functional data transfer and reporting efficiencies to improve monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis functions.

• Responsible for ad-hoc requests related to the accounting team.

• Lead accounting process development and implementation related to the financial standardization project.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of public and/or agricultural accounting experience

• 2+ years of costing experience preferred.

• Experience with costing in an integrated ERP system a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.

• Proven project leadership experience and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

• Ability to self-manage progress and deliverables with a high degree of accountability and urgency.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Functional Skills (Hard skills/ job-specific)

• PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with integrated ERP systems and implementation.

• Experience with Tableau a plus.

• Experience with Oracle EBS or Fusion a plus.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• CPA or MBA preferred.

Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000, and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
