Accounting Manager

Summary:

This role will be responsible for supporting the financial functions of the accounting department with an emphasis on the monthly financial close processes. This role will be expected to analyze and prepare bank, inventory, and other general ledger reconciliations. This role will have opportunities to collaborate with team members in the finance team along with various departments throughout the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial information. This role will be expected to quickly gain a working knowledge of the current processes and have opportunities to identify opportunities for process improvement. Success in this role will play a key role in the overall success of the company and its expected growth.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Analysis

• Analyze financial data and trends, with a specific focus on reconciliation-related insights.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Document and communicate reconciling items to relevant stakeholders.

• Bank and Other Account Reconciliations

• Perform monthly account reconciliations, verifying the accuracy of recorded transactions against bank statements.

• Identify and investigate discrepancies, collaborating with other departments as needed.

• Coordinate with corporate credit card holders to ensure timely submittal of purchase documentation.

• Ensure proper recording of bank fees, interest, and other banking transactions.

• Operator Role

• Inventory and Financial System Management

• Monitor and maintain consistency between inventory and financial systems.

• Conduct regular reviews to ensure accurate representation of inventory in financial records.

• Collaborate with relevant teams to address discrepancies and implement corrective measures.

• Content Tracking and Royalty Payments

• Monitor content distribution agreements to ensure compliance with usage terms and conditions.

• Oversee financial transactions related to content usage, invoicing, and payment processing.

• Develop and implement controls to mitigate financial risks associated with content transactions.

• Identify opportunities to streamline content tracking and royalty payment processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Prepare and review documentation for audits.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency within the accounting function.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes.

• Support other business-related tasks as needed.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Project accounting experience preferred.

• Experience with Dynamics SL or Sage Intacct preferred.

• Working knowledge of compliance, sales, use, and excise tax preferred.

• Professional certification (CPA) preferred.
