Accounting Manager

Candle Media is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Accounting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will help organize and oversee our financial close and reporting for all of our reporting units and business initiatives. The ideal candidate is an energized, organized and solutions-oriented individual with an enthusiasm to join a fast-paced, high growth and execution-oriented organization. This position will report to Candle Media’s VP of Finance and Accounting.

What You Will Do:

• Manage the accounting function and transactions, preparing financial statements and other financial reports 
• Review the preparation of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare consolidated monthly financials and management reporting packages
• Maintain general ledger structure, continuously optimizing accounting processes
• Assess, research and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the business
• Provide support for the annual financial statement audit
• Identify and drive process improvement or other projects

Requirements

• 4+ years of financial accounting experience
• CPA license
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively 
• Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• Advanced excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment, and ability to perform several tasks concurrently
• Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
• Prior experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems is a plus
• Big 4 public accounting experience and experience in house at a startup is a plus

• The base salary range for this role is between $130,000 - $150,000
