Ensures department objectives are met by managing staff, planning/evaluating department activities, and reviewing the financial information prepared by the department. Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, patient, associate, community, agency, company information and records.

Essential Functions1. Directs, oversees and is responsible for the activities of their team within the Accounting department.2.

Ensures that team is meeting month-end close deadlines and all other deadlines.3. Reviews and understands balance sheet account reconciliations, financial statements and other analyses to ensure the issued product is accurate, complete and timely.4. Ensures all Accounting entries are properly accounted for under generally accepted accounting principles.5.

Works with finance leaders in operations and other departments to collect appropriate financial transactions.6. Prepares monthly financial reports to be provided to senior leadership; provides additional analysis as required.7. Performs month end reporting of financial results to internal management on a routine and ad hoc basis.8.

Completes ad hoc requests for financial data to all functional areas within the company.9. Recommends and leads the implementation of changes to improve current processes.10. Performs accounting research as necessary.11.

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Counsels and disciplines employees to guide development of the individual while enforcing productivity standards.12. Contributes to the team effort by personally assisting with routine department tasks/activities when needed.13.

Establishes and maintains effective rapport with all levels of management. Assists operational areas in understanding and comprehending their financial results and related metrics.14. Uses sound judgment and experience to make decisions and resolve complex issues.

Knows when to seek higher level approval before making certain decisions.15. Assists with projects as assigned and performs other related duties.16. Proactively identifies accounting opportunities, issues and alternatives to meet company objectives and plays a leadership role in resolving alternatives, opportunities or issues.

Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsCPA Preferred

Management/Decision MakingApplies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.

Knowledge and Skills

Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has a working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably PeopleSoft.

Has a strong attention to detail. Has working knowledge of a functional discipline, specifically GAAP accounting principles.

You will provide financial reporting and decision support for the business. Duties * Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the North America General Ledger. * Manage the day-to-day accounting transaction process in the department (i.e. payables, fixed assets, payroll, procurement) and participate in the global consolidation and reporting of the business. * Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports to Management including the monthly internal reporting package and debt covenant reporting package. * Independently research, document and implement accounting policies to ensure company accounting is in accordance with US GAAP in a SaaS environment. * Support business managers by providing necessary information for decision making and assist in resolving issues * Lead the financial statement and 401(k) audits and act as the primary point of contact during the annual audit processes. * Act as administrator for banking systems and participate in day-to-day treasury functions, including cash management and forecasting. * Act as administrator for accounting systems * Identify and execute process improvements in the accounting function. * Provide leadership and direction for the Accounting Team. * Assist with training of new accounting staff and serve as a continuous resource in staff development. * Act as a liaison to other company personnel (sales/finance) and provide revenue analysis and feedback on specific requests Skills/Requirements * BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field, plus 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience, CPA preferred * Sound knowledge of US GAAP. * Maintain high levels of confidentiality. * Experience in financial closing process. * Must have excellent computer skills (Excel and Word), Intacct preferred. * Strong written and verbal skills that show an ability to communicate effectively with the team, management and external parties. * Self -starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Able to manage projects and balance between completing required processes and improvement-related projects. * Intellectually curious and constantly looking for ways to improve processes and expand the position's responsibilities. * Attention to detail and accuracy in work required. * Reliable and motivated to perform the job accurately and in a timely fashion.
