Accounting Manager

Bessemer Securities is a multi-billion-dollar family-owned private investment company investing in private equity, venture capital, hedge funds and a variety of public equity and fixed income securities. This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join the Controller's Department, which is responsible for company financial reporting, planning, treasury, strategic studies, and other special projects.

Responsibilities:

• Work on various aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and assist with all aspects of investment company reporting.

• Ensure compliance with related partnership agreements including the maintenance of investment waterfalls and partnership allocations for various private partnership investments.

• Reporting includes partnership accounting, preparation of financial statements.

• Use GAAP knowledge / research to assist Controller's Department with pronouncements affecting the Company.

• Assist with investment database processing and report generation.

• Assist with maintaining various modules of Oracle Cloud (GL, AP, Fixed Assets) and processing requirements for these Oracle applications.

• Assist with processing of expenses, cash transfers, investment fundings and distributions.

• Assist with various financial analysis for inclusion in Board of Directors presentations.

• Assist tax department by providing various financial information necessary for tax compliance.

• Assist with the year-end consolidation of various subsidiaries and partnerships in preparing year-end financial statements.

• Assist in special projects upon request.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and a licensed CPA required.

• 6-10 years experience in large CPA firm/ investment company/ private equity industry exposure; excellent GAAP knowledge/GAAP research abilities; familiarity with partnership accounting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite with exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

• Familiarity with general ledger and/or investment operations database systems.

• Knowledge of Oracle ERP general ledger a plus.

• Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy, (some overtime work required)

• Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment.

• Has excellent attention to detail, and executes responsibilities with a sense of urgency and follow-through

• Effective analytical, organizational and communication skills.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000.00- $135,000.00. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skills, experience, and qualification for the role. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

In addition, this position may be eligible for a discretionary incentive based on individual and company performance.
