The Accounting Manager will oversee one Senior Staff Accountant and be responsible for managing the month-end close process, facilitating financial audits for both the US and global operations, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Additionally, they will investigate opportunities for automation and lead process reengineering and system implementation as needed. As part of the continuous improvement initiative, they will also collaborate with the data team to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial data and reporting. As the department's specialist, they will be the trainer, administrator, and developer for the ERP system Acumatica and the Reconciliation system Blackline.
Responsibilities:
Department trainer, administrator (excluding access provisioning), and developer for ERP system Acumatica
Maintain Acumatica and OneStream mapping, including reporting accuracy and completeness
Department trainer, administrator, and developer for the Reconciliation system Blackline
Work with management and team (including the international accounting team) to complete global consolidation and a full set of financial statements every month, including SOCF variance analysis.
Help direct reports and team members prepare accounting entries to support accurate and timely financial statements
Perform variance analysis on revenue and expense accounts and report findings to management
Monitor and analyze assigned transactions for accuracy and completeness
Help direct reports prepare accruals and reserves to ensure that revenue and expenses are properly recognized in the appropriate accounting period
Other duties as needed that support the general ledger team
Maintain the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual for accounting policy and procedures
Willingness to delegate and cross-train to learn other functions within the department
Supervise, coordinate, and train staff
Backup to other accounting processes
Prepare ad hoc reports as needed and necessary information to support management, business and audit requests
Leads special projects as assigned
Works cross-departmentally to communicate and support the accuracy of financial transaction
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Five + years of progressive experience in accounting departments
Thorough understanding of general ledger account reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Accounting Systems, and Inter-company accounting
Experience with Blackline Reconciliation Software a plus
Experience with Acumatica and/or OneStream a plus
Strong internal customer service skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Deadline oriented with a proactive attitude
Demonstrable experience in analyzing a business issue and developing a future state recommendation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to proactively work with functions across the company
Experience with both internal and external Audits a plus
Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
Self-starter, self-motivated, and possess good problem-solving and analytical skills
Be able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure while changing and realigning priorities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Creative problem-solving skills
