Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a leading publicly traded firm who is seeking an Accounting Manager with a CPA (active or inactive) to join their team on a long-term contract basis. Details below!Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Remote - will need to be able to come in the office once or twice a month
Hourly Rate: $70.00 - $90.00/hour
Job Type: Contract (8 months)Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Program and non-program products –Loans, Securities, and other Investments
Day-to-day activities – principal paydowns, accrual of interest, guarantee fees, advances, commitment fees, servicing fees
Periodic activities – allowance for losses, non-accruals, mark-to-market for available-for-sale securities, buyouts, real estate owned, buyout loans
Document and review business requirements for the development of financial reports.
Test new or updates on system applications to ensure accounting requirements are met.
Review reports for Financial and Management Reporting and perform analysis on the results of operations at a higher level for various reporting and presentation purposes.
Perform or assist in other tasks that may be assigned on a regular or ad hoc basis.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of accounting and understanding of business financial statements.
Thorough knowledge of loan- and securities-related Financial Accounting Standards.
Familiarity with systems used to process, account and report financial products.
Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and related applications, preferably with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and Access).
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management.
Five to eight years in public or private accounting. Financial services experience in Government Sponsored Enterprises or other financial institutions is preferred. Public accounting experience is a plus.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
