We are currently hiring an Accounting Lead that will support our growing business and become part of the Accounting Team. This position is a new addition to the team, and will closely support our Accounting Manager to help build our accounting function as we scale.


  • Provide guidance and training to subordinates

  • Review assigned general ledger accounts and consistently question any unusual / non-routine transactions and account balance variances

  • Prepare and approve journal entries

  • Prepare reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts and review reconciliations performed by others when assigned

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls required by SOX

  • Perform detailed financial statement analysis, including discussions on various issues, analysis, preparation and review of account reconciliations

  • Preparation of fluctuation analyses and performance of financial statements analytics, providing relevant explanations for fluctuations provided to senior management

  • Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments

  • Be a US GAAP technical accounting resource by providing guidance, performing research and preparing accounting memos

  • Work closely with the Accounting Manager to build out new processes and structure addressing and improving the month end close processes

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly SEC reporting. Prepare financial statements and other schedules for 10-Q and 10-K filings as well as various footnote schedules.

  • Assist in merger and acquisition accounting

  • Provide supporting documentation to external auditors

  • Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures

  • Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management

Knowledge and Skills:

  • BA/BS in Economics, Business, or a related field; emphasis in Accounting a plus

  • CPA License

  • 5-7 years of general accounting and/or financial statement preparation experience desired

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Excel

  • Team player and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills (both written & oral)

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and to set and meet deadlines

  • Ability to handle confidential information

Who we're looking for The TFS Accounting Systems Control Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Accounting Systems Control Analyst. Reporting to the Accounting Systems Control Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to represent Accounting on system projects and, in some cases, leading Accounting's participation in these projects. This role will be a resource for Accounting associates as an expert in various systems. The team member will be responsible for providing input and leadership in researching, resolving, and implementing solutions for system and process-related issues impacting the Accounting Department, working with various departments across the company. The individual will also serve as the primary liaison between Accounting and IDS on certain system related issues and projects. What you'll be doing * Provide accounting and tax with Reconciliation systems support including the monitoring and review of; alerting impacted teams and tracking of issues to resolution, upon job failures; support resolution efforts of failed jobs, as necessary, and process user and account maintenance ensuring all are processed and supported in accordance with ITGCs; resolve unassigned accounts by identifying and assigning account reconciliation owners, report development and testing * Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all edits processed in the system, and user attestation evidence * Research and resolve reconciliation systems issues impacting Accounting. This entails researching issues within the system as well as participating in developing and implementing the solution(s). Requires strong calibration with operational departments across the company as well as with the software vendor * Lead Accounting's involvement in reconciliation system upgrades, patches, and fixes. This includes coordinating testing efforts by defining testing windows, arranging schedules, creating and assisting test cases/scripts, creating instruction materials and hosting kick off meetings with testers. Also requires executing administrator testing and validation and defect resolution by working with the technical teams and vendor * Participate in, and lead development or revision of ReconNET processes and procedures when necessitated by new reconciliations, programs, operational processes, or product lines. This includes working with other departments to gain an understanding of the change and assessing the Accounting impact to the existing system configuration * Participate in various systems projects to represent accounting's interests and to drive process efficiencies. Work at a detailed level to endure all of accounting's concerns are addressed, consulting with various accounting departments to discuss their requirements and gain a detailed understanding of their specific needs. In some cases, serve as the primary liaison between accounting and technical teams * Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain SOX Audit testing evidence; lead walk-through discussions with internal and external auditors to evidence both automated and manual controls throughout the year. * Monitoring system functioning and troubleshooting issues for WMS: (i.e. maintaining transaction code set-ups, monitoring system processes, engaging with IDS when issues arise, etc.) * Support various ad-hoc or new requests from the accounting department, IDS or auditors * Review system enhancement intake forms for accuracy and completeness and support calculation of ROI or payback benefits What you bring * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field * Relevant work experience in a similar field and/or industry * Experience with Accounting-related projects and/or system implementations * Experience with systems and systems testing * Working knowledge of report development and validation * Techno-Functional liaison between the technology team and users * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Added bonus if you have * Experience in Agile based project management * Scrum certification or equivalent experience * Experience with ReconNET system What we'll bring During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
