Position Overview

Purpose of this position is to provide department level accounting support to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with CryoLife's mission and core values. To comply with department and company-wide accounting procedures and with generally accepted accounting procedures during the process of preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing descriptive or supporting schedules, and working on special projects as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries for CryoLife, Inc. and its subsidiaries.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for low volume/risk accounts as assigned.

  • Prepare supporting or descriptive schedules and footnotes as needed on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.

  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.

  • Assist in performing a review of budget to actual differences on a monthly basis to determine if reclasses, accruals, prepayments, or capitalizations of costs are necessary for assigned cost centers and document differences in the monthly variance spreadsheet.

  • Assist in quarterly review procedures on SEC filings and review of XBRL tagging.

  • Assist the Staff & Senior Accountants, Financial Analysts, Assistant Controller, and Controller by entering journal entries, printing reports, and performing various tasks necessary to complete the regular closing process.

  • Assist with filing and other projects including: inventory counts, review of Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, and other ad hoc projects as identified.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Business Administration Accounting,
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher,
  • Required coursework Intro to Financial Acctg, Managerial Acctg, Intermediate Financial Acctg, Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word required,
  • Additional experience with accounting system software is a plus

Position Overview To provide current college students the opportunity to gain hands-on research and development experience in the corporate medical device setting. Interns will be paired with a current member of R&D and will provide engineering support in the phases of device prototyping test fixture development and device characterization. Interns will also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and attend events aimed at furthering their knowledge. Responsibilities Investigate and evaluate innovative medical devices: * Perform marketing and technical literature surveys to identify the current state of the art in multiple surgical disciplines * Contribute to the design ideation of new medical devices and components * Develop in silico models of device components for prototyping and characterization Develop experimental testing strategies, protocols, and systems: * Define testing strategies to advance the understanding of current concepts * Author protocols for the characterization of device components * Construct test setups and systems to obtain testing data on device components Qualifications * Currently enrolled as a full-time engineering student, preferably with an interest or background in life sciences (Business or Engineering degree a plus) * Previous research experience is highly desired * Junior or Senior in good academic standing * Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week * Interest in a career in the medical device industry * Ideal candidates must be organized, hardworking, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Company Info Who We Are.
