Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking Accounting Generalist for the beautiful new Barton Creek Resort & Spa! If you love hospitality, creating amazing customer experiences, and the structure and benefits that come from working with a hotel company then you will love working with Omni!

This role will be working closely with the Assistant Director of Finance to analyze and coordinate daily revenues and income audit functions in order to ensure all financial transactions for the day are verified and balanced. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion in hospitality and experience with general accounting!

Responsibilities

  • Read Group Contract and Resume and ensure that all billing requirements are met

  • Attend weekly Resume meetings

  • Conduct daily bill reviews for all group accounts to ensure accurate billing

  • Print P1 accounts and review to ensure that group invoices are billed out timely

  • Review Statements for membership and pull appropriate signed back up when needed

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with members and guests regarding questions, concerns, or complaints

  • Prepare and send group invoices within SOP timeframe, ensuring that there is support for all charges and a CS, or Catering Manager has approved the bill prior to mailing

  • Maintain neat and organized group billing files

  • Print Reservations Activity Reports daily and charge advance deposits to group guests credit cards

  • Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely, efficient manner

  • Perform other tasks dictated by AR and Accounting Manager

  • Assist membership with collection calls and updates on suspension status for clubhouse

  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook E-mail and Microsoft Office products

  • Manage the cash handling procedures, including the banks.

  • Assist with guest inquiry volume when applicable.

  • Daily balancing of credit card batches settled to posted and received batches.

  • Daily allowance review and distribution of report.

  • Daily management charge adjustments and posting to cost.

  • Daily tracking and posting of select guest and amenity charges.

  • Daily tax reconciliation.

  • Daily review, balancing and posting of MISC Commissions and receivable accounts.

  • Assist departments with general ledger research and re-class entries.

  • Understand and help ensure compliance with all Omni Finance SOPs.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned.

  • Assist departments with general ledger research and re-class entries.

  • Assist in Month End Closing.

  • Assist with GL Functions (Entry Creation, Viewing Entries, Copy and Print, Run Queries).

  • Prepare and distribute the various reports when needed.

  • Maintain open communication with all departments.

  • Attend department meetings and other required trainings.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

  • Assist with special projects as necessary.

  • Other accounting disciplines as directed by, Accounting Manager, Assistant Director of Finance, and Controller.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of general accounting experience in an upscale or luxury hotel or resort is preferred.

  • Takes initiative.

  • Able to research and accurately correct account variances.

  • Must have excellent computer skills and communication skills.

  • Excel proficiency is required.

  • Must have an understanding of balance sheets and revenue vs. expense accounts.

  • Must have working knowledge of general ledger and chart of accounts.

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent is preferred
