Job Description and Responsibilities
Willow Valley is hiring a Accounting Coordinator to be primarily responsible for the general ledger accounting for Willow Valley Communities, Charitable Foundation, and Connections at Home. The Accounting Coordinator is a detail-oriented position that works closely with all members of the accounting team, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll, to ensure the timely completion of all tasks.

Responsibilities:
Performs monthly bank reconciliations
Enters and posts miscellaneous cash receipts, charge logs, and other activities to receivables ledger.
Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
Performs all accounting functions for the Willow Valley Communities Charitable Foundation and Connections at Home, including AP, billing, reconciliations, and month end close.
Reconciles and balances accounts.
Prepares Sales & Use tax reports.
Serves as a backup for Willow Valley Communities payroll and payroll taxes.
Serves as a backup for the Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Answers resident questions.
Support/maintain/update various software packages used to perform above duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Accounts Receivable Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Payroll Specialist.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WVC's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, discipline and terminating
Planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing
Appraising performances
Compensation and rewarding
Addressing Resident and Team Member complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college OR
5 years' experience and/or training OR
Combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP required.
Working knowledge of basic computer operation including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
