Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and leading the team in research and analysis of Direct Store Delivery vendor invoice disputes, including short pays and skipped invoices. Identifying the operational cause of Direct Store Delivery invoice research and communicate findings to Center of Excellence. Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide high quality of customer service to all internal/external customers timely and accurate responses/ assistance

  • Direct and monitor departmental work flow to meet weekly/period deadlines

  • Lead team in maintaining/meeting goals of outstanding research of 15 days from receipt

  • Handle vendor research on projects, complete complex/special projects as requested by management

  • Provide training/coaching to the team on performance of duties for feedback/evaluations

  • Audit ledger accounts and period transactions for accuracy and proper balance detail

  • Assist in providing detail for internal/external auditors and Sarbanes Oxley compliance

  • Responsible for Electronic Data Interchange research/ invoices/rejects

  • Monitor credit invoices in Vendor Payment System and work with team to ensure vendors are billed after 60 days and before 113 days old

  • Utilize Direct Store Delivery Account Research application to set liability at period end for all outstanding research, reviewing for proper classification to shrink or inventory and communicate significant charges to controllers as needed

  • Assess systems and processes for improvements/enhancements

Minimum Position/Education Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information

  • Strong analytical and account balancing skills

  • Able to prioritize and organize job responsibilities to meet deadlines, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Professional in dealing with controllers, other division, stores, customers, vendors & other departments

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Business Objects

  • Proven sound business judgment and the ability to work successfully with all levels of associates, backgrounds, and perspectives

  • Able to work effectively and cooperatively with others; establishing and maintaining good working relationships

  • Able to take prompt action to accomplish objectives; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive and following up to ensure completion

  • Able to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization

  • Proven ability to set high standards of performance for self; assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of files, conversations and documents

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Accounting Lead/other leadership experience

  • General Ledger /Accounts Payables experience-3 years

  • Adept with Kroger Accounting System/Vendor Payment Systems/Direct Accounting Research/Direct Store Delivery Host/vendor book
