Job Description Job Description Sebewaing Tool and Engineering is seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to oversee all accounting functions within our organization. The candidate will manage job-cost accounting (WIP), prepare monthly financial statements, process payroll, and handle progress billing.

Additional responsibilities include managing purchase orders, payables, and billings. This role also supports project managers with financial insights, reports key metrics, handles special projects, and manages HR functions, including 401k administration. Primary Responsibilities:

Accounting:

Maintain and oversee financial records, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Job Cost Accounting (WIP): Manage and analyze job costs, providing detailed reports for financial planning and control. Monthly Financial Statements:

Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements. Payroll: Administer payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate employee payments. Progress Billings:

Oversee progress billing processes and track/maintain timing of invoicing dates for accurate and timely invoicing. Payables: Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Secondary Responsibilities:

Purchase Orders: Manage the issuance and tracking of purchase orders. Billings: Manage billing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Support to Project Managers: Provide financial insights and support to project managers to aid in project planning and execution. Reporting Key Metrics:

Compile and report key financial metrics to support strategic decision-making. Special Projects: Handle special projects as assigned by management, ensuring successful completion.

HR Functions: Assist with HR functions, including employee records management and compliance. 401k Administration: Manage 401k administration, ensuring compliance and effective communication with employees.

Cashflow Management: Provide feedback and regular reporting of cashflow forecast Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required (accounting preferred). Six years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant areas.

Other Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Suite. Familiarity with JobBoss Squared Software is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and detail orientation. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment. Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas may require personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

Travel may be required. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms.

This position occasionally requires lifting office products and supplies up to 20 pounds. Interpersonal Requirements Demonstrates commitment to quality and outstanding customer service. Effective multi-tasker Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
