  • 5:00 pm (plus overtime as scheduled)

Job Summary:
Daily processing of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, andother accounting and clerical functions as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient with our accounting and order processing system.

  • Daily invoicing, watching margins and mail/email invoices, and handle incoming calls from customers regarding invoices.

  • May set up and work with vendors, assuring timely set up and payment of accounts payable. Also verifying pricing/quantities with purchase order.

  • Process daily check payments, run daily credit cards, run 30 and 60 day past due reports.

  • Back up the receptionist for breaks and lunch as needed.

  • Assist walk in customers with accounting related items.

  • Become familiar with royalty reporting requirements.

  • May work with the returns department and vendors to ensure we get proper credit for merchandise returned to vendors.

  • May work with sales tax set up and payment.

  • May coordinate collection function & make collection calls and follow-up.

  • Work with customers and sales staff to resolve billing issues.

  • Work and communicate with other departments to ensure accurate bookkeeping.

  • Other clerical duties as assigned.

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.

  • Performs job consistently within established performance standards.

  • Is punctual, observes prescribed work break/meal periods and has an acceptable overall attendance record.

  • Other duties as assigned or dictated by the needs of the business.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum 2-year accounting degree, or equivalent experience.

  • Good PC ability, including Internet experience and aptitude; 10-key skills required.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

  • Responsible with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, interpret orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations.

Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

This position supports other nursing timekeepers, while helping to keep accurate record of employees' time and information; provides updated information to Payroll and Human Resources; and, provides coverage to the Accounting Department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties. Notes: 1. Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2. Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 3. Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the requires experience. 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
