5:00 pm (plus overtime as scheduled)
Daily processing of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, andother accounting and clerical functions as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Become proficient with our accounting and order processing system.
Daily invoicing, watching margins and mail/email invoices, and handle incoming calls from customers regarding invoices.
May set up and work with vendors, assuring timely set up and payment of accounts payable. Also verifying pricing/quantities with purchase order.
Process daily check payments, run daily credit cards, run 30 and 60 day past due reports.
Back up the receptionist for breaks and lunch as needed.
Assist walk in customers with accounting related items.
Become familiar with royalty reporting requirements.
May work with the returns department and vendors to ensure we get proper credit for merchandise returned to vendors.
May work with sales tax set up and payment.
May coordinate collection function & make collection calls and follow-up.
Work with customers and sales staff to resolve billing issues.
Work and communicate with other departments to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
Other clerical duties as assigned.
Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Performs job consistently within established performance standards.
Is punctual, observes prescribed work break/meal periods and has an acceptable overall attendance record.
Other duties as assigned or dictated by the needs of the business.
Essential Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum 2-year accounting degree, or equivalent experience.
Good PC ability, including Internet experience and aptitude; 10-key skills required.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Responsible with a strong work ethic.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, interpret orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations.
