Accounting Clerk, Detroit Airport

The Opportunity

Delaware North Travel and Hospitality is searching for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our team at Detroit Airport in Detroit, MI. As an Accounting Clerk you will be responsible for managing our accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, preparing month end journal entries, assisting in various sales reporting, overseeing cash room operations across multiple terminals and ensuring we are in compliance with audit standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents

• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

• Bill and credit accounts involved with the accounts payable system

• Act as a liaison between departments and vendors

• Check department financial accounts to assure funds are available for purchases

• Review electronic direct invoices for proper accountability and weekly balancing

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks

• 1-2 year's prior accounts payable experience preferred

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices

• Above average Microsoft Office Suite skills and computerized accounting skills is required

• Strong guest service orientation, with a focus on accuracy in handling confidential information

Physical requirements of the job may include extensive walking, lifting and carrying of heavy materials.
