Company located on the North Shore is in immediate need of an Accounting Clerk! The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for "wearing many hats"! The main duties for the Accounting Clerk will include:

  • Entering, reviewing, and mailing claims and invoices

  • Accounts Payable duties including entering and coding invoices, assisting with check runs and ensuring all PO's have proper approvals

  • Accounts Receivable duties including creating/sending AR invoices, applying payments to customer accounts, making collection calls and adjusting invoices as needed

  • Assisting with fright orders and proposals

  • Dispatching and logistics coordination tasks

  • Negotiating and confirming rates with customers

  • Helping staff with emails, letters and administrative support functions If you are looking for a job opportunity in a smaller organization where you can be responsible for a variety of tasks, then this is the job for you! The hours for this role are Monday-Friday normal business hours (40 hours per week). The requirements for this Accounting Clerk include: - Prior experience working with AP and AR

  • Administrative support experience

  • Experience with QuickBooks

Requirements

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

  • Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Experience with logistics

  • Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

  • 1+ years of relevant experience

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred OR at least 3+ years of relevant experience

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-04T00:00 Perform accounts payable processes in support of Emerson. Review, prepare and process documents and transactions in a timely manner to accurately account for accounts payables and travel and expense related activities. The successful candidate will be responsible, self-reliant, detail oriented with the ability to respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Specific tasks of the position include: * Initiate vendor set up * Review and process invoices to include: * Obtaining proper approvals and accounting distributions * Verify price extension, quantity, & taxability * Review source documents for completeness and accuracy of information * Investigate variances and obtain resolution prior to processing * Respond to vendor and employee inquires * File processed invoices * Process and verify journal entries * Audit and file employee expense reports * Maintain various Accounts Payable reports ie; inventory accrual report, credit return/repairs report * Ability to think independently and resolve issues EDUCATION REQUIRMENT: High school graduate or the equivalent with at least one year business school or college including six college credit hours in Accounting Principles I and Accounting Principles II or the equivalent. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: At least two years experience in accounting or bookkeeping to include one year prior experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivables. A working knowledge of financial and procurement systems, source documents, chart of accounts, organization and budget structure. A working knowledge of current software programs.
