Title: Accounting Clerk
Location:Philadelphia, PA 19103
Pay: $26-$28 ( weekly pay)

Term: 2 month contract (potential for extension)
Hours: Full-time (M-F)
Start: Asap

  • 3+5 years experience in AR, AP and Journal Entries required
  • Experienced with entry of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Journal Entries
  • Familiarity with Accounting software such as Great Plains or Quick books
  • Experience in using Excel with basic formulas
  • Accurate data entry and experienced with entering data
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Must pass background check
  • Reconcile accounting records
  • Processing accounts receivable and payable
  • Journal entries
  • Data Entry into excel spreadsheet
  • Assist with other accounting duties as needed

VIEW JOBS 12/2/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-01T00:00 Business Unit: Summary: A successful candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities and proactively identify potential issues or risks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Supervisor will work closely with the Director and Manager of Technical Accounting, and assist other members of the Accounting department with the review and update of accounting policies and business process activities associated with the Cable division, technical accounting research, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements and guidance. The role requires in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in accounting, and the ability to manage priorities and act as a resource for colleagues. Main Responsibilities: * Assist the Technical Accounting team with maintenance and documentation of Cable HQ division accounting policies, bulletins, white papers, and memorandums. Includes identification and documentation of policy updates and recommendations. * Assist with technical accounting research to provide guidance and analysis to key stakeholders in the Cable HQ division and the field. Includes assisting with research of codification guidance, documentation of positions on accounting issues, and dissemination of guidance on new pronouncements. * Assist with the review and documentation of significant transactions, contracts, and new business initiatives within the Cable HQ division and recommend the accounting treatment. * Assist with selected annual assessments for the Cable HQ division, including performing the analysis and documenting conclusions in a memorandum. * Assist with projects focusing on process improvement and standardization, includes suggesting potential risk areas and recommending improvements. * Assist in reviews of contracts, contingencies and maintaining compliance of assigned control procedures. * Assist the Technical Accounting Team with the preparation and presentation of selected trainings offered to the various accounting and finance teams with matters involving technical accounting guidance or the application of new accounting standards. * On-going monthly responsibilities, as assigned, to ensure successful monthly close for certain Cable HQ business units, such as ensuring accuracy of variance analysis, internal and external reporting deliverables, and other month-end, quarter-end and year-end deliverables. Core Responsibilities: * Hires, supervises, trains, and develops Finance & Accounting staff. * Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. * Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
