Located on a 36-acre museum site, it includes a 120,000-square-foot-facility, the state-of-the-art Taylor Planetarium, the 220 seat Hager Auditorium, Martin Children's Discovery Center, and Living History Farm, along with an off-site 553-acre paleontology preserve.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists and works closely with the Associate Director of Finance/Controller on month-end and year-end closing procedures, including bank and credit card reconciliations, and reconciliations with MSU Banner reports for various departments.
Handles accounts payable processes, including reviewing invoices, processing payments, and preparing 1099s.
Conducts revenue collection processes, including preparing daily deposits and reconciliations.
Provides operational support as needed to the Director of Finance and Associate Director of Finance/Controller, including activities such as maintaining equipment lists and working with MSU offices, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, Fiscal Shared Services, Human Resources, and University Information Technology.
Participates in and handles other finance, accounting, human resources, and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
1-3 years of accounting experience or accounting or bookkeeping education.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Software including Word and Excel
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience using Blackbaud/Financial Edge
Demonstrated experience with accounts payable
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-Related Field
