LinQuest is seeking an Accounting Associate to join our team at our headquarters in Los Angeles.


  • Lead the AP Vendor/Sub division

  • 3 way match; review all PO submissions for accuracy before submitting to Jr associate for processing

  • Work with Procurement and Receiving to ensure all documentation is being processed and submitted in a timely matter

  • Process Subcontract invoices, maintain and upkeep logs

  • Process monthly credit card reconciliation and year end reconciliations

  • Year end 1099

  • Support AP Manager with check-runs, month-end closing, entry quality review check and other critical deadlines

  • Process reclassifications as requested

  • Provide customer service and support to employees, vendors, customers

  • Perform administrative duties including filing and mailing out checks


Required Experience:

  • Deltek Costpoint

  • Processing of subcontract invoices

  • Strong problem solving ability and work independently

  • Highly motivated and willing to learn

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills. Team player is a must.

  • College graduate and 3-5yrs accounts payable experience

Preffered Experience:

  • Knowledge of automated processing

DEFINITION: Performs professional accounting work and directs a moderate sized staff (20 or more) in the operation of a large scale complex accounting program and in the work of a large group of related activities of a department. Essential Job Functions Plans, assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of the accounting, budget compilation and control, cashiering, supply, payroll, statistical, data processing, and other staff or service activities of a department. Advises and consults with management concerning the accounting and financial implications of existing and projected department activities. Supervises or personally conducts cost, revenue, and accounting systems and procedures studies; writes reports of findings; and secures approval for implementation of recommendations from departmental administration and the Auditor-Controller when necessary. Analyzes and interprets accounting provisions of laws and regulations and recommends steps for their implementation. Administers revenue producing agreements. Coordinates the work of subordinate accounting and other activities with the work of other divisions, departments, and clientele. Requirements SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: Completion of twenty-one (21) semester units or thirty-two (32) quarter units of accounting including at least two (2) courses in advanced subjects such as cost accounting, governmental accounting, auditing or equivalent accounting education from an accredited college or university* -AND-Three (3) years responsible professional accounting or auditing experience at the level of Accounting Officer I, Accountant III*, or higher. PHYSICAL CLASS II: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION: Experience at the level of the Los Angeles County Class of Accounting Officer I is defined as performing professional accounting work and directs a small staff (five or more) engaged in the operation of an accounting system of moderate scale or complexity and in the work of a small group of related activities of a department. * Experience at the level of the Los Angeles County Class of Accountant III is defined as performing responsible and highly complex professional accounting and auditing work in the preparation, analysis, review, maintenance, reconciliation and control of financial records and fiscal revenue and expenditures forecasting. Additional Information EXAMINATION CONTENT: This examination will consist of two parts: Part I : An evaluation of education and experience based upon application information, weighted 50%. Additional points will be awarded for additional experience beyond the Selection Requirements. Part II: An Appraisal of Promotability which will measure the applicants knowledge and skills, adaptability, productivity, dependability, and supervision, weighted at 50%. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on both weighted parts of the examination in order to be placed on the eligible register.
