The Finance division is responsible for driving all activities related to PATH's accounting and financial functions and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), PATH policies and procedures, internal controls, and audit support operating in 20+ countries. The team works closely with partners in human resources, legal, IT, office of grants and contracts,and the extended program leadership team to not only educate regarding finance and accounting procedures, but also explore how the finance function can support program and other operations groups building and optimizing finance business processes and systems to meet future needs and demands.

PATH's Global Expense Accounting Team is currently seeking an Accounting Associate, with 1 to 2 years of experience, who will work with the rest of the Accounting team to oversee adherence to PATH Accounting policies as well as those of our donors. This position will require superb organizational skills, attention to details, some amount of data entry, and superior customer service skills (in person and via email and phone).

Responsibilities:

  • Review expense reports in accordance with PATH's travel reimbursement policy

  • Track, code and register direct billed external invoices

  • Track outstanding travel expense submissions

  • Monitor and follow up on overdue advances to staff/consultants

  • Issue and record travel invoices and reimbursement checks to PATH staff and consultants

  • Perform bi-weekly airfare reconciliations

  • Promptly answer inquiries from travelers, project administrators and vendors

  • Assist with other accounting department responsibilities as assigned

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and year close tasks as needed

Required Experience

  • Basic accounting skills and knowledge of accounting processes

  • 1 - 2 years' experience working in accounting or finance field

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance field or similar preferred

  • Effective communication skills both spoken and written, as well as customer service with both internal and external clients, thrives in a team environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • ERP systems experience is a plus

  • Flexibility to work independently and as a team player

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet policy driven deadlines

  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsible for supporting all activities related to PATH's global accounting system with strong functional knowledge in budgeting, accounting and reporting. Working closely with partners in human resources, legal, IT, office of grants and contracts, and the extended program leadership team to not only educate regarding system processes, but also explore how the analyst function can support program and other operations groups building and optimizing business processes and systems to meet future needs and demands. Responsibilities: * Support global end users in all financial system functions related to the ERP application * Manage user defect/issue reporting queues and work in the ERP with available resources to determine the root cause and resolution of the defect/issue * Create solutions by understanding business processes and culture * Manage tasks related to ERP administration, improvements, upgrades and enhancements * Gather business requirements and prepare documentation related to functional or technical design documents * Functional testing and rollout of customizations, custom objects, new enhancements, application releases and system integrations based on user/business needs * Work with IT or technical consulting partners towards common goals or resolutions * Communicates with business users on system performance, status of enhancements and defects Required Experience * 2+ years of ERP experience including administration, configuration, and troubleshooting * Working knowledge of Business World a bonus * Experience with operational accounting, procurement, and financial reporting strongly preferred * Experience with business requirements, technical analysis and design, coding, testing, and implementation of customizations within software environment strongly preferred * Ability to automate business / ERP processes * Must have high level of proficiency in Excel * Demonstrated flexibility, ability to deal with ambiguity and willingness to learn new skills and technologies Must be authorized to work in the United States.
