Your Title: Accounting Associate

Your Location:
Hybrid Remote/Needham, MA office (1 day report to the office + 4 days work from home)

You Report To: Accounting Manager

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00am 5:30pm EST

Compensation: $50,000 + bonus!

About the Opportunity:

First Help Financial, recently voted Great Place to Work, is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Associate. When you join our team at FHF youll do important work, 100% of your responsibility will be for accounts payable transaction cycle from beginning to end. What you will do:

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

- 100% responsibility for accounts payable transaction cycle from beginning to end

- This is primarily done through and Divvy, but alterative payment methods may be periodically used;

- This includes interacting with business unit managers and vendors, as needed;

- Verify, and obtain approvals, and pay all invoices in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures;

- Credit card statement reconciliations and expense reimbursement;

- Daily processing of customer refund checks;

- Annual 1099s and unclaimed property filing.

- Maintaining accounting databases, including applying transactions on the loan management system and entering transactions into the general ledger (Sage Intact);

- Maintaining accounting records by making copies; scanning and filing document as needed;

- Responsible for daily cash reconciliation between various sources, including lock box;

- Assisting with the annual financial statement audit and other external audits;

- Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager

What you bring:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred;

- At least 1 years experience working on an accounting team (Account payable/GL);

- Proficiency in MS Office including strong Excel skills;

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy;

- Excellent oral and written communication skills;

- Analytical, with excellent problem-solving abilities;

- Previous experience with, Divvy, and/or Sage Intact a huge plus.

The Accounting Senior Manager, Special Projects will execute on high-impact and high-profile accounting, finance, and strategic projects. This role will be based out of our office in Needham, MA. Our reopening plan will remain fluid based on COVID-19 guidance to ensure the safety of all our employees. Responsibilities * Define requirements and develop operationalizable solutions to address business issues from an accounting perspective, based on the risks and dependencies associated with each project. * Partner with all stakeholders to outline project scope, goals, and deliverables. * Manage project and milestones from initiation to closure and within approved timeline and budget. * Build relationships and collaborate across functions to lead self and project team, when necessary, towards successful execution. * Accountable for project results. * Balance operational efficiency with precision in GAAP compliance to drive project implementations that lead to sustainable business-oriented solutions. * Run project status meetings with team and leadership sponsors, document decisions and action items that clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders. * Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle. * Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes are documented and approved. * Key team member for global transformation initiatives and audit. * Work closely with the Accounting and Reporting teams to streamline the month-end close and reporting process. * Responsible for ad-hoc requests. Qualifications * 6-8 years of public and/or private accounting experience. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is required. * Self-starter with superior accounting project management skills. * Knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques, and tools. * Ability to self-manage progress and deliverables with a high degree of accountability and urgency. * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. * Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills. * Must be organized and detail oriented. * Ability to elicit cooperation from other departments.
