The Accounting Assistant is responsible for data entry, clerical support duties, and assisting the Accounting Director in the day-to-day coordination and operation of the department.

Essential Job Duties:

1.Compiles and inputs data into the computer for Independent Living billing.

2.Reviews accounts payable/accounts receivable documents for accuracy.

3.Inputs accounts payable into the computer and generates accounts payable checks

Other Duties:

1.Runs necessary reports. Maintains backup and support documents.

2.Maintains ledgers and storage binders in an orderly fashion.

3.Maintains computer disks.

4.Files paperwork.

5.Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.

6.Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.High School education with knowledge of accounting and office machines.

2.Data entry or personal computer experience necessary.

3.Accounting experience helpful; will train.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to sit at a desk for up to six hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to access files and various documentation; must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently; may be exposed to a constant noise level due to the printers located in the office
