The Position

Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

This opening is for an Accounting Assistant III within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Fiscal Services Unit in Carson City, NV. The Accounting Assistant III position in the Fiscal Services unit is responsible for several critical functions with the unit that are performed on a routine basis including but not limited to the following : This position works with and assists the Accounting Staff with the processing of deposits, generating cash receipt documents, generating and tracking purchase orders, generating and entering journal vouches, and supporting other accounting functions as needed.
