Accounting Assistant 3 - Minimum Qualifications Waived

The Position

Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

The Department of Public Safety is seeking an Accounting Assistant III to serve as the department's timekeeper. We are looking for an applicant who has significant organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

This position audits, reviews, and corrects timesheets and pay for the department of approximately 1,200 employees. This position works closely with the DPS divisional timekeepers, individually with employees and supervisors, as well as Central Payroll.
