The Position

Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This position is located within the Accounting Division in Carson City. The incumbent is responsible in processing accounting documents for the budget accounts assigned within set deadlines and accordance with State and Department Policy, prepare vouchers; audit and process travel claims: prepare and submit purchase orders, and perform annual inventory.
