Job Description:


Under general supervision, performs corporate accounting functions that support the compilation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Interacts with business unit leadership and relevant department staff to ensure proper execution of accounting functions and the accurate reporting of financial results at the business unit level.

1.Responsible for the overall accuracy and completeness of accounting for assigned department and the corporate office. Prepares and delivers timely reporting to department and corporate leadership.
2.Serves as primary liaison to assigned departments' regarding financial results. Reviews/analyzes financial results for departments. Communicates with management to understand monthly financial results, prepares variance analyses to budget, prior year, and expectations. Ensures close coordination with Department Leadership to ensure reporting meets their needs.
3.Responsible for the overall accuracy and completeness of assigned administrative expense accounting functions for the domestic organization (legal entity accounting, interest allocations, risk management accounting, shared services accounting, corporate cards processes, etc.).
4.Reviews/analyzes financial results for administrative expenses for the company. Prepares variance analyses to budget, prior year, and expectations.
5.Oversees Sarbanes Oxley schedule and reconciliation controls, ensuring the accuracy and proper authorization of quarterly audit schedules prior to release of company earnings.
6.Assists with coordinating monthly and quarterly Home Office review meetings with members of management, providing detailed explanations and analysis of the period's activity.
7.Assists with the preparation and evaluation of the annual budget. Ensures tracking systems capture useful operational metrics for use in reducing defects, improving service, and optimizing the implementation process.
8.Prepares monthly, quarterly and year end roll-forward and audit-support schedules.
9.Supports the internal and external financial reporting functions. Develops and promotes automated recovery procedures to minimize downtime.
10. Drives business process improvement initiatives to streamline the processing of Home Office accounting and other corporate accounting activity. Provides thought leadership for developing innovative operational tools, which will help promote higher system availability.
11. Leads special projects and prepares ad hoc requests related to the home office (accounting policy changes, department financial information requests, etc.).

1.Performs additional duties as directed.


  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Finance or Accounting required.

  • Two (2) or more years of relevant public or corporate accounting experience required.


  • Strong accounting technical background (GAAP)

  • Excellent Financial consulting skills (conducting needs analysis, identifying issues, recommending alternatives, implementing change)

  • Ability to manage and implement complex financial projects

  • Strong ability and experience managing and performing multiple concurrent tasks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial processes and systems.

  • Ability to plan work for self and coordinate with others to meet multiple deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Under general supervision, applies principles of financial analysis and financial consulting to develop, implement and administer financial systems and procedures that provide pro-active, detailed, accurate and informative financial/accounting data and services. Collaborates with internal teams including Controllers, Financial Operations, treasury, Tax and Human Resources in fulfilling duties. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for accounting for monthly SBU results, consolidation accounting and business reviews. Researches variances to budget and prior-year and communicates to management in written and verbal formats. 2. Communicates and provides monthly financial closing support to SBU through monthly closing checklists, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger review and variance analyses. Interacts with SBU teammates to enhance reliability and completeness of the business' financial results and projections. 3. Collaborates with Controllers, Financial Operations, Treasury, Tax, Human Resources and manufacturing business partners in fulfilling duties. 4. Prepares journal entries and related schedules for consolidation, intercompany transactions and other matters as required. 5. Supports the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for executives, board of directors and other members of management. 6. Supports the preparation of SEC filings, such as forms 10-K and 10-Q, including financial statements, footnotes and Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A). Compiles and/or prepares support for financial statement footnotes and other included financial disclosures. Assists in statutory accounting and related filings, including preparing benefit plan financial statements. 7. Performs research on various accounting issues that arise in the normal course of business and interprets and documents the impact on the company. Assists in identifying new or emerging accounting and financial reporting issues. Researches issues and recommends implementation actions, as needed. 8. Participates in audits and examinations performed by external and internal auditors. 9. Performs additional duties as directed, including, but not limited to, financial analyses as required to provide decision-making information to senior and operational management. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs additional duties as directed. Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, required. 2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required. 3. Minimum three (3) years of work experience in Finance, Analysis or Planning roles, required. 4. Experience in Public Accounting, preferred. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: 1. Strong financial analysis skills including knowledge of financial business plans, processes and systems. 2. Demonstrated success in problem-solving though the use of data and information metrics and improvement to performance processes. 3. Strong accounting technical background (GAAP) including inventory cost accounting, intercompany transactions and foreign exchange accounting. 4. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and/or procedure manuals. 5. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds. Able to communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences. 6. Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, presentation, negotiating and financial consulting skills. 7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team including the ability to plan work for self and coordinate with others to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines. 8.
