Assist with accounting and analytical activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts and projections.


  • Assist in administrative tasks or special projects as needed.

  • Assist in information gathering for various required management reports.

  • Create accounting analytics for internal and external reporting requirements.

  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.

  • Prepare and post basic monthly journal entries.

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Propose correcting entries.


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related business field required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on spreadsheet application.

  • PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.

VIEW JOBS 4/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-15T00:00 The Financial Analyst, based out of PPG's Corporate Headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh, is a member of the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis function and plays a highly visible position within the organization by providing support for our legacy coatings, glass and chemicals businesses as well as certain discontinued operations accounting and analysis responsibilities. The Financial Analyst interacts with many members of the finance organization, including Business Unit finance directors and their direct reports, business controllers, corporate audit services, tax and treasury, as well as individuals within the IT, compliance, legal and EH&S departments. Key responsibilities include: * Prepares and analyzes monthly PTPI/cash flow estimates and preparation of Business Review meeting presentations * Conducts legacy reserve analysis and documentation * Ensures accurate and timely monthly journal entries and quarterly account analysis * Conducts in depth analysis of spending for Legacy and discontinued Operations reserves * Manages new content submission for the PPG finance website * Completes documentation of all processes * Maintains a robust control environment Required Experience and Education * A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required * A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting and analysis work experience required Preferred Skills * Experience with Oracle Financials and Hyperion Financial Systems. * Current CPA License is preferred Functional and Technical Skills * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required * Proven track record of exceptional time management and organizational skills * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel * Strong oral & written communication skills Success Factors/Functional Competencies * Take Responsibility * Plan and Organize * Demonstrate Openness and Flexibility PPG: We protect and beautify the world.
