Job Description and Duties
The Treasury Department has an opening for an Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) to perform critical and complex fiscal and operational tasks related to Banking Operations, Cash Receipts, and other functions within the Treasury Department. Utilizing the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting standards, the candidate will assist in the development and maintenance of accounting system structure to support daily operational needs and ongoing improvements of queries, data extracts, and accounting data interfaces.
The incumbent will serve as a lead to collaborate with the Information Technology Department, Banking and FinTech Partner institutions, and other programs to support all but not limited to system development, corporate projects, and strategic key initiatives. The incumbent will act as a liaison to facilitate Treasury's projects from start to finish, and to maintain active communication with various business operation units and Treasury Management.
The successful applicant will be strong in the following areas:
Banking industry and their regulations
Knowledge of accounting record of financial transactions and presenting results of report and analysis
Knowledge of Financial Close Process and Account Reconciliation
Developing strategic plans, monitoring, and reporting project status

Working Conditions
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Telework may be available and is subject to change based on State Fund guidelines and business needs.

Education: Either I Equivalent to graduation from college, with specialization in accounting. (Registration as a Senior Student in a recognized institution will admit applicants to the examination, but they must produce evidence of successful completion of the curriculum and the prescribed courses before they may be considered eligible for appointment.)
Or II
Completion of a prescribed professional accounting curriculum given by a residence or correspondence school of accountancy, including courses in elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, cost accounting and business law.
Or III
Completion of the equivalent of 19 semester hours of course work; 16 hours of which shall be professional accounting courses given by a collegiate-grade residence institution, including courses in elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, and cost accounting; and three semester hours of business law.
