Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs and maintains billing activities for DOIT. Ensures billing records are submitted to the university accounting and financial systems for administrative and academic units as well as students. Performs comprehensive analysis of receivable reports, maintains records and ensures compliance with University billing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 1 year professional accounting experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cost recovery efforts

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must have a strong working knowledge of modern office machines, equipment, software and office procedures, as well as, a strong working knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices. In addition, this position must be able to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports, as well as, using sound judgment.

Develops and coordinates the preparation, maintenance and management of the college fiscal records and operations. Manages state appropriated, grant funded and federal funds. Monitors and maintains adherence to budget. Evaluates financial activities to ensure compliance with University, State and Federal fiscal policies. Develops internal training guidelines and procedures for new College of Nursing staff regarding budget management and procurement policies and procedures. Coordinates procurement of equipment, supplies, travel, memberships and services for the College with signatory authority for commitment of funds. Oversight for faculty start-up packages and departmental accounts to include ongoing budget training to educate faculty on managing their individual budgets. Review monthly time and effort reports from Contract, Grant and Accounting with Post Award Coordinator for accuracy. Post Award Coordinator will initiate appropriate paperwork to correct discrepancies for all grant related funding.
